Truchard The Shepherd 2022

Region: Carneros, Napa Valley, California

Grape Varieties: 40% Syrah, 40% Zinfandel & 20% Tempranillo

Before the Truchard family found their slice of heaven in Carneros the region was primarily used for sheep herding, hence the name for this wine The Shepherd. They only make 400 cases and it is only available in three states so we are lucky in Florida to be able to share it with you. The blend for this bottling is 40% Syrah, 40% Zinfandel and 20% Tempranillo, again, only from estate grown grapes. The nose is spicy and meaty, with a chewiness on the palate that denotes a much more expensive wine than this. Perfect with almost any grilled meat, pasta or anything else, this should be one of your California staples while it lasts.
