Torrevento Strade di Puglia 2024

For three years, one of the top-selling wines at TWM has been the Strade di Toscana produced by the Torrevento winery. This year, they launched a companion wine from the warm, sunny coastal region of Apulia. For geography fans, this is the heel of the boot of Italy and also one of the top beachside destinations in Europe. In fact, the region has become so popular that vineyards are now being ripped out to make way for more hotels and resorts.

This wine is the perfect bottle to grab if you are planning to grill anything in the near future. It is produced from Aglianico, Primitivo, and Nero di Troia, so it offers color, fruit, and even a touch of structure. Decant this for a few minutes and give it a chill in the ice chest before serving. The nose explodes with notes of fresh blackberry, blueberry, orange peel, and dried figs. The texture is soft and supple, with just a touch of tannin at the finish. Serve this wine with fajitas, grilled chicken parmigiana, or beef shish kebabs.
