As a result they are able to fully ripen Bordeaux varieties, so this wine is a blend of equal parts Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The combination proves to be a superstar for this price, delivering quality more often associated with $40 wines.

Decant this beauty for a few minutes to let the bouquet develop. Then it offers a rich nose of currants and berries, laced with classic Sangiovese leather. The palate is chewy and dense, with thick fruit framed with modest tannins. This wine calls for a hearty complement so think lasagne Bolognese or grilled ribeyes drizzled with olive oil and lemon.
