Selvapiana Chianti Rufina 2024

Rufina is the smallest DOCG of Chianti and should not be confused with Ruffino, the large, mediocre producer also in the Tuscany region. Selvapiana has been in the Giuntini family since 1827, and today it is run by Francesco Giuntini, the fifth generation to manage this beautiful estate. Their Chianti is 95% Sangiovese, with 5% Canaiolo, Colorino, and Malvasia Nera, all farmed using organic methods. This Chianti exhibits finesse and balance, akin to Pinot Noir but with the classic savoriness of the Sangiovese variety. Serve with chicken breasts sautéed with mushrooms and grape tomatoes, or with pasta carbonara.
