This year the winemaker of the year in Barossa Valley Australia is not one of the big Shiraz superstars of the region but rather John Hughs who only produces wines from one grape, Riesling! John grew up in the Clare Valley of Australia surrounded by Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon vines. However his heart was always in Riesling and so he founded his winery to make only one variety and named it Rieslingfreak. Today he produces tiny quantities of a dozen different examples each year and this, No. 10 is also known as his Zenit, or top bottling. We are very blessed to offer this wine as only a couple of dozen six packs made it to the US.
