Remuet Chiroubles 2023
| Availability: | In stock |
Chiroubles is one of the smallest and least known of the Beaujolais Crus, so finding one is rare. This is also the Cru where the vineyards are at the highest altitude in the region and on the steepest slopes. As a result, the vines produce fewer grapes, adding to the scarcity. Yet, somehow, Natalie and Bernard Remuet manage to make this wine, and it is only $25!
Another unique characteristic of Chiroubles is the pink granite that is the only soil type. You can see what it looks like on the label. All these factors mean that the wines from this area are concentrated and intense, with a shocking level of minerality that lifts them and keeps them fresh. This one boasts notes of fresh wild strawberries, dried cranberries, and fresh red cherries, kissed with violets. Try this with grilled chicken breasts with a balsamic glaze or pan-seared salmon.
