Grape Variety: Grüner Veltliner

As a winemaker, Stefan Pratsch has always prioritized organic and low-intervention winemaking. His father, Willi Pratsch, was one of the first in the region to switch to these methods at a time when the Austrian wine industry was divided over chemical additives and other aspects of “modern” winemaking. Today, the Pratsch family farm over 20 hectares of their own in the Weinvertel region, overlooking Vienna and the Danube. In addition, Stefan works with trusted grape growers throughout the region who share his philosophy.

This Grüner Veltliner is a classic example of Stefan’s house style, with most of the fruit coming from his own high elevation vineyard sites and fermented entirely in stainless steel. When you open this wine you will want to serve it chilled, but not ice cold, which allows notes of green apple, lemongrass, Thai basil, and white pepper. Drink now through 2026 with grilled pork chops, ahi tuna sashimi, or smoked salmon with cream cheese.
