Region: Willamette Valley, Oregon
Grape Variety: Pinot Noir
Pike Road is produced by the Elk Cove Vineyard in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. When Adam Campbell decided to produce wine only from his family’s vast estate vineyards he did not want to leave the growers his parents worked with for decades without a place to sell their grapes. His solution was to create Pike Road, their “second label” but wines that offer incredible quality and value. Fortunately for us they over produced Rose this vintage and since Rose is always in season the distributor bought the remaining cases at a great deal and we are passing those savings on to you.
Crack this wine and pour a glass, the nose is a blast of fresh strawberry, raspberry, kumquat and peach skin. The palate is dry but with good texture and a nicely long finish for a Rose. Drink now through the summer with crab salad on endive or peel and eat shrimp.
