This wine comes from Ted Gerber’s original plantings in the Rogue Valley from 1972. The vineyard sits at 1600 FAS, so the grapes manage to retain good acidity, a problem for Gewurz. This is classic stuff, with notes of dried apricots, candied orange peel, rose petal and lychee. On the palate it is dry but not alcoholic, with good focus and really nice length. Try this wine with a charcuterie board, crown roast of pork or ham with a pineapple/apricot glaze. Only 325 cases were produced.
