Moulin de Gassac Pinot Noir 2025

Pinot Noir may be synonymous with Burgundy, but the Guibert family found a very different home for it under the Mediterranean sun. The family behind the celebrated Mas de Daumas Gassac grows their Pinot Noir in vineyards around Cournonterral and Fabrègues in the Languedoc, where the vines are planted on limestone-rich soils. The winemaking is deliberately simple: a short, cool maceration preserves the fruit, followed by six months in stainless steel with no oak to get in the way. The result is juicy and easygoing, with candied cherry and ripe red fruit, subtle mocha notes, bright freshness and soft tannins. This is Pinot Noir made for drinking now and an easy bottle to reach for when you want a lighter red with plenty of personality.
