Monte Tondo Corvina Rosato Frizzante

Normally, we like to feature this wine in the summertime, but it shipped late this year. No worries; it also makes a great cocktail, appetizer, charcuterie board, or tinned fish wine for whatever you may have in mind in the coming weeks. This wine is made by the Magnabosco family, who are one of the quality leaders in the increasingly important Soave Classico and Amarone della Valpolicella categories. They make it using only estate-grown Corvina grapes from young vines, so it could qualify as Valpolicella Classico. However, they press it off the skins and then ferment it in tank, creating a “frizzante” style. 

Pop this baby open, and you get a little spritz, but not full-on sparkling bubbles. The nose is a gripping mix of strawberries, raspberries, oolong tea, and jasmine. The palate is light and refreshing—dry but not lean—and perfect to whet the appetite. Drink 2025-2026 with all the foods mentioned above!
