We have been fans of the 6th generation family winery for many years and delighted to present their latest entry into Florida, this Cote de Provence Rosé. While the family made their reputation in the Rhone Valley to the west they purchased this property in 1982. The roughly 100 acre estate sits at the base of Montagne Sainte-Victoire, one of the great cru locations for Provence Rosé. Consistent with the family commitment to sustainability this property is farmed using organic practices.
The Rosé for this project is a blend of the classic Provencal grapes; Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Vermentino, all harvested at night to preserve natural acidity. We love this example because it displays a beautiful bouquet of strawberries, rhubarb, peach skin and pink sea salt. It dances on the palate with enough weight to know you are drinking something but still perfect for backyard sipping with or without food. Try this with a cheese board or endive spears filled with shrimp salad Provencal.
