The Masachs family have been producing Cava, the Spanish equivalent of Champagne, in the hills north of Barcelona, Spain for more than 100 years. It is a category that has grown by leaps and bounds over the past few years as Champagne prices have spiked with the best examples from Cava offering exceptional value. This has been a store favorite for years and is the perfect sparkler to celebrate Mom, or just about any other special occasion you have like graduations or anniversaries.

For their Brut bottling the family uses the classic grapes of the region, 40% Xarel-lo, 35% Macabeo and 25% Parellada. The wine is made in the same method as Champagne, meaning fermented and aged in the bottle, for 10 months. When you pop the cork this wine and pour a glass the bouquet is so inviting, with notes of lemon grass, Anjou pear and grated ginger. The feel on the palate is focused and a little chalky, like good Champagne, with a little persistence into the finish. Drink this by itself or with dips, cheese boards, or even eggs Benedict.
