Region: Jumilla, Spain

Grape Varieties: 50% Macabeo & 50% Sauvignon Blanc

This is an aromatic blend of Macabeo, a traditional white variety on the Mediterranean coast, and Sauvignon Blanc. Although the region is often associated with inland vineyards and very high temperatures, parts of Jumilla experience some maritime influence from their proximity to the Mediterranean which enables the production of these white varieties. It helps that there are limestone soils closer to the coast as well!

To make this wine, fruit is sourced from the bodega’s highest altitude vineyard sites, which are planted to some of their youngest vines. Nutrient-poor soils and vigorous hand pruning help to decrease yields, ensuring quality over quantity. When you open this wine, you will want to serve it well chilled, where it works wonders as an aperitif but also goes well with grilled garlic shrimp, potato salad, or sushi.
