Kopke is the oldest house in Oporto, founded in 1638. They are primarily a house that produces tawny, or wooded, Ports, with their specialty being Colheita style. A Colheita Port is from a single harvest but aged like a tawny Port, unlike most single harvest ports which are bottled after 2 years in oak. The results are Ports with incredible complexity and polish, but showing some attributes of vintage character. How often do you get to drink 20+ year old wines for less than $100? Once opened these are good for several months.
