Gonnet Cotes du Rhone Rouge Le Reveur 2020

Creme de Cassis, Dried Cranberry, Black Licorice, Black Pepper, Cardamom!

Guillaume’s Cotes-du-Rhone is sourced from older, high-altitude vineyards located just outside the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation. These grapes are hand-harvested from some of the Gonnet family’s “younger” vineyards, with the average vine age being around 45 years. Biodynamic viticulture is utilized in many of in the vineyards owned by the Gonnet family, improving the overall health of the vines through ancient methods of quality control.

Similar to many of Guillaume’s other red blends, this wine is 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, all of which is harvested by hand. Following the harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery, destemmed, and sorted (all done by hand as well) before a 15-day maceration on the skins. After fermentation using exclusively native yeasts, this wine spends 12 months aging in concrete tanks, which preserves the natural aromatics of the wine without imparting any additional flavors. The wine is then lightly filtered before bottling.
