Gonnet Cairanne Le Brave 2022

Region: Cairanne, Rhóne Valley, France

Blend: 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah

The Cairanne appellation is one of the newest in the Southern Rhône Valley, approved only in 2018. Despite the recent designation the area has a long history of respected wines stretching into the middle ages. The vineyard that Guillaume and Kelly farm is located south of the village with a southwest exposure where the soils are a mix of limestone, sand and clay. Both wines display incredible freshness that is perfect for pairing with our hot summer cuisine.

We have loved their Cairanne red for a long time but the new 2022 is a masterpiece. A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, fermented and aged only in concrete tanks. It is an impressive combination of textural components without being heavy, with summer berry notes kissed with notes of fennel, marjoram and lavender. Drink 2024-2027 with grilled sausages, ratatouille or smoked salmon.
