“Estate bottled” may be the two most important words on the Giuliano Rosati label. This Pinot Grigio comes from a single vineyard of 20-year-old vines in Latisana, Friuli where the land has been farmed by four generations of the  Anselmi family since the 1920s. Everything from growing the grapes, to production, to bottling occurs on the estate grounds, allowing the family full control from vine to bottle. And they happen to have an ideal place to do it. Four rivers run through Latisana, while breezes from the nearby Adriatic moderate the climate, allowing the grapes to ripen without sacrificing the bright acidity that makes Pinot Grigio so refreshing. Fermentation and aging take place entirely in stainless steel, preserving fresh apple, citrus, and peach with a crisp, lively palate and just enough fruit to give the wine some lush texture. This is the kind of Pinot Grigio you just love having around on a Tuesday night. Pair with light seafood or a good Italian cheese board.
