This is not our first feature of this wine, which I consider one of the finest of its kind and a bargain too. Geppetti uses grapes from several vineyard sites across her sprawling estate to build size and structure in the wine. She also blends 85% Sangiovese, the local clone known as Morellino, with 10% Alicante and 5% Ciliegiolo, which add color, aromatics and structure too. The wine is then aged almost exclusively in stainless steel to preserve color and freshness.

When you serve this wine you will want to give it half an hour in the decanter to help the aromas develop. Once you do it offers a classic Tuscan nose. On the palate this wine is medium weight, with a crunchy, bright sense of fruit that develops a frame of tannins near the finish. Drink with a garlic and rosemary studded grilled pork tenderloin or pasta Bolognese.
