With the thermometer reading nearly 100 degrees these days is there anything better than a cool, bright glass of Beaujolais after a long day of work? This stunning example displays notes of fresh huckleberries, red plum, strawberry leaf, red currants and violet liquor. On the palate it crackles with bright fruit and sea spray like minerality that practically cracks on the tongue. Serve at cellar temperature to get the full effect and try this with a slice of paté and crusty bread or flank steak marinated in soy sauce, maple syrup and lime juice.
