In late March, we offered a few cases of this beauty and sold out quickly, assuming that the distributor was out as well. It turns out a few cases remain, so we grabbed more and can offer the same deal for all who are looking for a serious example of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Grab yours while you can; it will be available this weekend until supplies run out.

Pinot Noir from the Petaluma Gap is among the most distinctive in California because of the climate. The Petaluma Gap is a break in the coastal range that funnels cold Pacific air into western Sonoma County. Growing here takes fortitude: the season is long, and late fall rain or frost can threaten the crop. Luckily, neither occurred in 2022, resulting in a unique example of California Pinot Noir.

Unlike the riper, high-octane examples farther east in the Russian River, Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir can be summed up in one word: savory. The long hang time and cool climate produce wines with stunning red-fruit clarity—currants and cranberries—plus exotic notes of black olive, rosemary, sage, and rooibos. Texturally, there is a lush core of fruit that is not heavy but maintains lovely balance and length. It’s an excellent time to try a wine of this caliber. Drink 2026–2028 with pan-seared salmon or grilled lamb chops.
