We have been fans of the Morgan winery for many years. Dan (Morgan) and his wife Donna Lee established this winery in 1982, one of the first in the Santa Lucia Highlands. In an area best known for lemon and avocado orchards the Lee’s set out to plant Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, ideal for the cool growing conditions. Their early success was the catalyst for others to plant in the region, including the Wagner family (Mer Solieil and Belle Glos) as well as designer Robert Talbott. Today the region is seen as producing some of California’s most elegant and age worthy Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs.

For this Tasting In the Round Jonathan will walk us through their Monterey and Double L Vineyards series wines, explaining this unique terroir and winemaking process. This will are a wonderful chance to discover the wines first hand and see why we are such big fans.
