We have become big fans of this small family winery located in Amity, Oregon. Their entry tier is called the “Bunny Series” because Coelho means “rabbit” in Portuguese. They also feel it pays homage to their grandfather who immigrated from Portugal. For several years, their Pinot Noir has been our value buy in Oregon, and they just dropped the price a few more bucks, making it the cheapest estate-grown wine from the Willamette we know.

The new Pinot Noir is absolutely delicious, a great continuation from the past three vintages. Their style is not fruity, but yet a quick swirl delivers a cornucopia of fruit aromas: pomegranate, bing cherry, and blackberry. It is soft and generous on the palate and has a little lift at the finish that keeps it from being too clumsy. If turkey is not on your menu this week, or you have a few bottles lying around afterward, try this with grilled salmon or take out sushi.
