Chateau Petit Freylon Bordeaux Superieur Cuvee Sarah 2022

The “Cuvée Sarah” is one of the Chateau’s newest cuvées, and since its introduction in 2012 has been consistently recognized for its quality and value. To meet the qualifications for Bordeaux Supérieur, lower yields and riper fruit are required, so production of the Cuvée Sarah is small compared to its “big brother” listed above. However, the final blend remains the same, approximately 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot.

To make this wine, all fruit is harvested by hand and brought to the winery for de-stemming. After fermentation is complete, the wine is racked to French oak barrels, both used and new, for 6 months before bottling. When you open this wine, you will want to decant for at least a half hour. On the palate, notes of black plum, blackcurrant, red cherry, cassis, vanilla, and cedar make this a fantastic food pairing wine. Drink now through 2026 with venison chops, sirloin steak, or beef Burgundy.
