While driving through this area after a particularly violent storm in 1973, the legendary André Lurton took note of a devastated a plot of young pines. He notices that the tree roots are covered in stones, indicating a rare gravelly terroir, perfect for growing world class grapes. He quickly purchased the estate and today it represents one of the greatest values in the commune of Pessac Leognan.

For this wine the fermentation is started in stainless steel tanks, then moved to oak barrels to finish. It is then aged in 25% new French oak barrels for 10 months. The result is a stunning example of Sauvignon Blanc that displays notes of grapefruit marmalade, key lime, passionfruit, and dried grass. The feel on the palate is very gripping and focused, with considerable muscle on the palate and a long finish.
