For the price, Château Bonnet is one of the most storied in Bordeaux, in part because this is where the visionary André Lurton began building his empire. André inherited this estate in 1953 when the Bordeaux region was still a mix of vineyards and cereal crops. Lurton began leasing land to expand the farming aspect, eventually becoming a leader in dehydrated cereal crops, which gave him the money to invest heavily in Château Bonnet. He focused on farming high quality fruit and introduced stainless steel fermentors to make wines with freshness. The result is the bright and lively style of White Bordeaux we enjoy today.

The 2023 is a mix of classic White Bordeaux varieties, 75% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Sémillon, 6% Colombard, and 4% Muscadelle. Fermented in tank and aged partially in large oak casks, this is a stunning example of modern White Bordeaux, with citrus peel notes intermingling with dried straw and coriander seeds. Weighing in at a scant 12.5% alcohol, this wine is refreshing as an aperitif or with a cheese and charcuterie board.
