This wine is sourced from the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux, a growing region situated between the Garonne and Dordogne tributaries. The proximity to these two rivers, as well as the limestone soils of the appellation, creates ideal growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, particularly in warmer vintages. Chateau Petit Freylon, located in the tiny village of St. Genis du Bois, produces three dynamite red wines, all of which are predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon. The “Cuvée Michael” is a great example not only of their winemaking style but the direction in which this region, formerly known only for white wine, is moving.

The final blend for this wine is approximately 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 30% Merlot providing body and tannin. After fermenting in stainless steel, the wine is racked to French oak barriques, new and gently used, for one year before filtration and bottling.
