Casa dei Reti is a historic estate in the Veneto who produces a really dynamite little red wine using the old grape varieties of the region. Normally the wines of this area are made from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. At this property they also include Rossignola, Oseleta, and Negrara, old varieties that fell out of favor after the wars. The result is a wine that is basically a Valpolicella but with something extra as well. This wine smells like a bowl of summer berries crushed with dried black figs. Give this wine a slight chill and serve with charcuterie or a loaded pizza.
