The de Miguel brothers, Arturo and Keke (Artuke is a mashup of their names) are leading the charge for site specific examples of Rioja that ignore the classic Crianza/Reserva/Gran Reserva designations. This bottling is their “village wine” and the name means “black feet” since they foot trod the grapes before fermentation. It is a stunning Rioja, stylistically like a bigger Pinot Noir, with great texture and dimension. Try serving with blackened chicken over yellow rice or slow roasted pork shoulder.
