A decade or so ago the sparkling Shiraz category was popular and this wine demonstrates why. It is a serious red wine, produced from Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah as well, but with fizz. My guess is the Grenache and Mourvedre juice that was not bled from the tank to make the wine above remained on the skins for a couple of weeks and was turned into red wine. Those components were also aged in small stainless steel tanks. The Syrah component from above also appears in this wine, but this time bringing a lot of complexity and richness to the final wine. - Tim
