"Several years ago I met Juanjo Piñol during a tasting in Rioja. Juanjo represents the 4th generation of his family to farm their holdings in the Spanish region of Terra Alta, near Barcelona. Located 1300-1500 feet above sea level the air is cool at night so the grapes retain great natural acidity. Their vineyards also lie on a deep bed of pulverized limestone that contributes even more zip to the wines. This bottling is made entirely of Garnacha Blanca, from a certified organic vineyard planted in 1990." - Tim
