Laurent Perrachon Beaujolais Julienas Roche Bleue 2022 Mag

Earlier this year, we sold a lot of Laurent Perrachon Chenas—nearly 25 cases—so we know there are already fans. A few weeks ago, we came across these magnums and an unbelievable deal just in time for Thanksgiving. Are you expecting a few people over for Turkey Day? There’s nothing better than serving wine from a magnum because it simply tastes better out of larger bottles. Plus, there’s no red wine more perfect to pair with old Tom Turkey than Cru Beaujolais.
This wine is made from vines in the Cru village of Juliénas, located on the northern end of the region. Wines from this area tend to be more floral than the more powerful expressions from southern areas like Morgon and Fleurie. For example, this one bursts with Bing cherry, pomegranate, peach skin, and orange blossom notes. The palate is full and deep, with moderate tannins that rise late, providing structure toward the finish. Drink this wine now to enjoy during the holidays, but don’t hesitate to cellar a few bottles for a couple of years. I love old Beaujolais from my cellar and cherish the few magnums I have in the cellar.
