Region: Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Grape Variety: Pinot Noir
The Girardin family have been producing wines throughout the Côte de Beaune for 13 generations, including bottlings from Pommard and the prestigious Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru. For this Bourgogne Rouge bottling, Justin sources from his family’s older vine parcels located in the communes of Santenay and Maranges. Out of respect for terroir Justin works as naturally as possible in the vineyard and chooses to mature this wine in older, neutral oak barrels. When you open this wine you will want to serve it closer to cellar temperature, around 55 degrees Fahrenheit, where red Burgundy really thrives. Once opened it delivers classic Côte de Beaune notes of tart red cherry, wild raspberry, strawberry leaf, cherry pit, and earth. Drink now through 2026 with turkey burgers, chicken with green beans and tomatoes, or fresh baguette with the soft cheese of your choice.
